Yellow fever vaccination
Yellow fever is the only vaccination that a number of countries legally require. Without a valid international certificate you can be refused entry at the border.
Yellow fever is a viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes in parts of Africa and South America. The disease can run a severe course, and there is no treatment — vaccination is the only protection. That is why the World Health Organization allows countries to require proof of vaccination on arrival.
