About Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus
This vaccine protects against three bacterial infections: Diphtheria (throat infection), Pertussis (highly contagious coughing disease dangerous for babies) and Tetanus (lockjaw). Especially important for people in contact with babies.
How is it transmitted?
All three diseases spread through droplet infection or (for tetanus) through wounds. Pertussis is highly contagious.
