About Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio
This vaccine protects against three serious diseases: Diphtheria (a bacterial throat infection that can cause suffocation), Tetanus (lockjaw, caused by bacteria in the soil) and Polio (a viral disease that can cause paralysis).
How is it transmitted?
Diphtheria: droplet infection through coughing and sneezing. Tetanus: bacteria enter the body through wounds. Polio: fecal-oral route through contaminated water or food.

- Diphtheria: suffocation, heart problems, death
- Tetanus: severe muscle spasms, respiratory arrest, death
- Polio: permanent paralysis, breathing problems
