Health risks
Yellow Fever - Conditional (g1)
Yellow fever is NOT endemic, no risk. Only required when transiting from high-risk area (any transit duration). Not endemic. Only required when entering from high-risk area.
Malaria risk
Malaria risk in eastern and western border areas. No risk in Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.

When to start vaccinating?
Plan your vaccinations ideally 6-8 weeks before departure. Some vaccinations require multiple doses for full protection. For yellow fever, you must be vaccinated at least 10 days before arrival.

Best time to travel
November to March is dry and relatively cool. April and May are very hot; June to October sees regular rain.
Malaria
There is no malaria risk in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Angkor Wat. In forested border areas prophylaxis may be needed; we assess this per itinerary.

- Hepatitis A, DTP and typhoid are the standard recommendations for a touring trip.
- Japanese encephalitis is relevant for longer rural stays or travel in the rainy season.
- Dengue occurs; daytime mosquito protection is important.

Do I need Japanese encephalitis for two weeks in Cambodia?
Usually not for a short trip along the well-known destinations. For rural stays, travel in the rainy season or stays longer than a month we do discuss this vaccination.
