    Our advice in short

    • Hepatitis A, DTP and typhoid are the core vaccinations for almost any trip to India.
    • Rabies is advised for longer stays, travel with children and cycling or scooter trips.
    • For family visits the risk of hepatitis A, typhoid and tuberculosis is higher than on a hotel trip.
    • Be careful with water, ice and raw food; travellers' diarrhoea is the most common complaint.

    Frequently asked questions

Is yellow fever mandatory for India?

Only if you have been in a yellow fever country within six days before arrival. Travelling directly from the Netherlands means no yellow fever certificate is needed.

Travelling to India with a baby - is that possible?

Yes, but the advice is tailored. Some vaccinations can only be given from a certain age, and mosquito and food hygiene are extra important. Plan the consultation well before departure.
