Yellow Fever - Recommended (G1)
Yellow fever is endemic. Vaccination recommended. Required when transiting from high-risk area (any transit duration). Endemic (low risk). Recommended for entire country. Required when transiting from high-risk area.

When to start vaccinating?
Plan your vaccinations ideally 6-8 weeks before departure. Some vaccinations require multiple doses for full protection. For yellow fever, you must be vaccinated at least 10 days before arrival.

June to October and January to February are the best safari periods.
Malaria
Malaria risk exists in most of the country below 2,500 metres. Nairobi itself is low risk; prophylaxis is usually needed for safaris.
