Yellow fever is NOT endemic, no risk. Only required when transiting from high-risk area (any transit duration). Not endemic. Only required when entering from high-risk area.

Malaria risk (P. knowlesi) in Sarawak and Sabah (Borneo). No risk in major cities.

When to start vaccinating?
Plan your vaccinations ideally 6-8 weeks before departure. Some vaccinations require multiple doses for full protection. For yellow fever, you must be vaccinated at least 10 days before arrival.

The west of the peninsula is driest from December to March; Borneo and the east coast from March to October.
Malaria
There is no malaria risk in cities and tourist areas. In the interior of Borneo (Sabah, Sarawak) protection may be needed.
