    Short answer

For Hajj and Umrah, Saudi Arabia requires one vaccination: meningococcal ACWY (quadrivalent). It must be given at least ten days before arrival and is valid for three years with the conjugate vaccine. We also advise DTP and hepatitis A, and for some nationalities yellow fever or polio is requested. You receive the international vaccination certificate straight away.

    Planning your vaccination

    • Meningococcal ACWY, required for Saudi Arabia
    • International vaccination certificate straight away
    • Evening and weekend appointments, every day 10:00 to 22:00
    Plan your Hajj vaccination

    Required: meningococcal ACWY

    • The quadrivalent ACWY vaccine is required for all pilgrims from one year of age
    • Given at least ten days before arrival in Saudi Arabia
    • The conjugate vaccine is valid for three years, so an earlier dose may still count
    • The vaccination must be recorded in the international vaccination certificate

    What we additionally advise

    • DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, polio): check whether your series is still valid
    • Hepatitis A: many pilgrims eat out and in large groups
    • Influenza vaccination: in crowds and tent accommodation flu spreads quickly
    • With chronic conditions the practitioner discusses what suits you

    Extra requirements for certain nationalities

Travellers from countries with yellow fever or polio must also show proof of those vaccinations. This usually does not apply to pilgrims departing from the Netherlands, but it may be requested after an earlier stay in such a country. Check the current requirements via lcr.nl and hajj.nusuk.sa.

Information about registration and packages is based on the official Nusuk Hajj platform of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Registration and payment take place there only; DKliniek provides the medical preparation.
