Applying for an Umrah visa
Different rules apply to Umrah than to Hajj. Below are the main points; the official and current conditions are always on visa.mofa.gov.sa and nusuk.sa.

Short answer
Umrah can be performed on an Umrah visa, a tourist eVisa or a valid visa from certain countries, depending on your nationality. Your passport must be valid for at least six months on arrival. Saudi Arabia requires proof of Meningococcal ACWY. Applications go through nusuk.sa, visa.mofa.gov.sa or your travel agency.

What you need
- Passport valid for at least six months on the day of arrival
- Recent passport photo meeting Saudi requirements
- Hotel confirmation and return ticket
- Travel insurance with medical cover
- Proof of Meningococcal ACWY, given at least ten days before arrival
Good to know
- The Umrah visa is usually valid for several months with a limited stay per visit
- Around the Hajj season extra restrictions apply to Umrah travellers
- Women aged eighteen and over can travel without a mahram; check the current rules
- Only pay and register through official channels to avoid fraud

Arrange your vaccinations in time
Meningococcal ACWY is required for entry to Saudi Arabia and must be given at least ten days before arrival. We also advise you on DTP, hepatitis A and your certificate.
